Creating Educational Games of Real Value

What’s the Secret Sauce to a Great Educational Game? | Doug Woods:

Doug Woods discusses the key features of an educational game, referring to a study which identified intrinsic teaching, assessment and reward as key to ensuring students engage with the material, rather than extrinsic examples, which often fails to engage students and didn't return the same success in the studies conducted.

As a Digital Technology teacher, I will use this when students are required to build their educational games using Kodu. Students will be asked to build a game with educational value, which can teach a younger student an educational outcome (e.g. basic arithmetic, geography).
